Instead of going out for a movie with the hubby last night, we decided to stay in and watch the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics - definitely a good choice! I forgot how moving these programs can be... and how much more in our own beautiful country of Canada :) Emmanuel has never watched an opening before *gasps* so I think he enjoyed it as much as my Mother and I did - goosebumps and all! I secretly think he just watched the whole thing because he knew Wayne Gretzky was bearer lighting the torch, hehe. I must say, my two favourite parts were the poem
"We Are More" written and read by Shane Koyczan and KD Lang's performance of
"Hallelujah", sooo good and clearly not lip-synced like some other performers (that was disappointing!) It feels nice to be patriotic at tmes; I wish I could carry this on throughout the rest of the year!

And aside from all the celebration going on, we still remember Nodar Kumaritashvili, whose life & dreams were taken from him way too soon. The video shown of his accident was seriously devastating; It's still so hard for me to believe what a split second could do to the life of someone so undeserving.
Rest in sweet, sweet peace.
I look forward to the next 16 days, cheering on Team Canada!
As my brother would say, "Let's gooooOoooOooo!" :D

boston.com; they were my most fave from all that I looked through :)
As for some non-Olympic related updates, we had a great week with Emmanuel off for two days. I was able to purchase some stuff for Emma's 1st birthday invites. I'm not sure what my plans are for that, but I'm just excited to get crafty! Did some hot yoga with my cousin Jeff the other day and we joined for a month of unlimited classes. Wahoo! I'm not too sure what we're up to this long Family/Valentine's Weekend yet, but whatever it is, I'm sure I'll enjoy the time spent with m'loves! I made a Valentine's card for Emmanuel this year. I think I'll be doing that from now on - cheaper yet more personal at the same time ;)
Hope you all have an amazing & sweet long weekend ♥
